This fully restored bourbon/whiskey barrel is perfect for your home bar and entertaining area. This is a real whiskey/bourbon barrel that has been modified and cleaned up into a liquor cabinet, although you can use it for any type of storage. These are customizable but generally I try and keep the bottom area for taller bottles and space the top shelf for medium and short bottles or glassware/barware.
For reference:
Most wine/whiskey bottles are 12 - 14” tall.
Blanton’s Bourbon is 9” tall.
All of these barrels with be finished with the following options, unless otherwise noted.
Hammered black painted hinges
Black screw heads
Lazy susan (spinning) bottom shelf
Mid shelf
AC outlet powered internal LED lights (no motion sensor) amber lights
Sanded on the sides and protected with two coats of polyurethane.
Top sanded smooth, with at least 4 coats of polyurethane.
Wine barrels will generally have a raw wood interior. Bourbon/whiskey will typically be charred black interior.
The interior is cleaned and scrubbed with a metal brush before being washed out. This removes the loose debris, but will not remove the black char from the wood. It was burnt, after all.
