Whiskey & Wine Barrels Cabinets
Choose between a whiskey/bourbon barrel or a wine barrel. Whiskey barrels are slightly smaller - most notable in the mid section. Wine barrels are slightly more robust in the middle of the barrel and feature a higher/deeper lip around the top and bottom barrel heads.
Typically, wine barrels are lighter in wood color due to a shorter aging process. Depending on the distillery, whiskey barrels are left to aged much longer, thus the more “worn” look to the wood.

My approach and method.
My process for creating these barrels is fairly rigorous. I disassemble the barrel rings and mark where the door(s) should be. The barrels is sanded to knock off the rough edges and grit. The metal bands are marked and have holes drilled in them to attach screws ~100 to hold everything together over time.
The door is cut out, the interior is washed and scrubbed to remove the char and debris. The barrel is dried and assembly of the spinning bottom shelf is started. Interior shelves are installed along with the cabinet doors. Everything is finished in several coats of polyurethane to protect the barrel from liquid spills and other wear and tear.
Finally, LED’s are installed and final touches are completed. As mentioned - everything can be adjusted and tweaked to meet your own style.

Barrel Options
I’ve made a lot of barrels cabinets. I understand the unique challenges each barrel has while converting it to a cabinet. I have options, that I believe, other barrels lack or don’t fully take into consideration. These preferences are all optional and I can alter them to meet your specific needs. Exterior Wood: Natural or stained
Exterior metal rings: Natural or painted black/hammered metal
Interior bottom: Spinning lazy susan, custom built flat bottom shelf or standard barrel bottom (cleaned up)
Interior Middle shelf: located more near the top (for glassware, shakers, cocktail glasses, etc) or located more center for double tall bottle storage.
Lighting: AC Wall Plug LED strip attached to top and middle of interior. Requires a wall outlet OR LED Light Bar attached via magnets. Motion activated option. Removable and USC-C rechargeable.
